Mt. Hood Weather Forecast

Clear sky and calm weather holds on the mountain for the next few days. Models are in agreement that another round of snow and stormy weather is on tap for the end of the week. Wind: NE 20 in the morning, NNW 20 in the afternoon, and N 15 overnight.

Monday looks clear and sunny. The FAF will be 5500′ early, 6000′ in the afternoon, and 7000′ overnight. Wind: N 10-15 all day and NW 20 overnight. A weak system may bring some flurries on Tuesday night with no accumulation. Call it sunny in the morning, partly cloudy with flurries in the afternoon, and clear overnight. FAF: 7000′ early, 3000′ in the afternoon, 2500′ overnight. Wind: NW 20 early, NW 40 in the afternoon, and NNW 15 overnight. Clear sky continues through Thursday morning, after which a system brings snow in from the northwest. That pattern looks to continue through next weekend.

Gorge Wind Forecast

COAST, JONES, SAUVIE’S: Detailed forecast is on winter break.

Road and Mountain Biking

Sub-freezing temps Sunday morning will lead to freeze-thaw conditions on exposed trails. Same goes for the next three days, at least. It’ll be tempting with all the sun around, but please don’t. Freeze-thaw conditions will be prevalent on Syncline, Hospital, and Post, and you will do significant and permanent damage. Better: gravel riding or road riding.
