10/7 Forecast

Good morning!

This week’s sponsor is Cascade Acupuncture Center. Come by Cascade Acupuncture Center at 104 5th Street between 5-7pm tonight for Business After Hours in celebration of the CAC 5 year anniversary! Food by Knead Bakery, music by Jazz Guitarist Charles Crosman, wine tasting by The Pines Winery, beer by Full Sail Brewing, FREE chair massage by Tamiko Graffius, LMT, ribbon cutting at the extensive Chinese Herbal Pharmacy, free Chinese medical pulse diagnosis, free tote bags, and last, but not least, a raffle for free treatments and herbs. I know you don’t have anything going on tonight between 5 and 7pm, so get down there!

Good morning! It’s a light wind, cloudy start to the day as Mother Nature takes summer by the rays of sunshine and shakes hard in preparation for a rainy few days. There’s a front approaching today, and that’s going to turn gradients onshore in a few hours. Keep an eye on Stevenson and the Hatchery first for 18-22, followed by a quick jump to 22-24 at Stevenson, Mosier, Rowena and all the beaches further east. There’s a decent chance of 24-26 at Stevenson and Arlington.

Rain, or at least sprinkles, moves in tomorrow, with a tenth of an inch or so near Hood River and more in the mountains. Saturday looks tropically wet, with 1-1.5” in the mountains and a half-inch or more in the Gorge. Rain showers continue Sunday, and snow levels plummet in the mountain.

The change of temperature as the front passes on Sunday will give us a big windy day out in the desert (this forecast has been confirmed by an unnamed NWS forecaster).

For off-the-water entertainment this week, there’s Business After Hours at Cascade Acupuncture Center today from 5-7pm (snacks, acupuncture, freebies, and other cool stuff), and Interesting at the Mosier School at 7pm on Friday. Interesting was great fun last year, and I highly recommend everyone go this year. It’s only $5.

On Saturday from 9-12, there’s a CGWA beach cleanup at the Hatchery. If you come out and brave the rain, you’ll be rewarded with lots of free swag from Da Kine. Many thanks to Da Kine for sponsoring work parties, and thanks to CGWA for organizing.

Have a awesome day today!
