It’s the 1st annual Winter Pledge Drive!
Thank you for using this forecast! It’s free to use, but it’s not free for me to write. I put about an hour a day into creating a (hopefully) accurate forecast, and I pay for the hosting on this website. If you use this forecast to pick the good days on the hill or on the river, if you find this report saves you gas money or time, please make a donation during pledge drive month! I’m just one gal with other jobs writing this for you! Your generosity keeps this going for everyone. I also send an email version of this forecast. Make a $12 or larger donation, and you’re on the email list for a year. No dealing with the pledge drive. Here’s how this works. If I get donations totally $15 or more today, I post a forecast tomorrow. To make this fair, I’ll update the color of the dot midday (a girl’s gotta work, you know.)
Tomorrow’s forecast status: as of 9:53am. Thank you Paula C., and everyone else, for your support!

Good morning,
Well, this is an interesting start to my day off. I woke up at 4:30am… sigh… Apparently my body is incapable of telling the difference between ‘workday’ and ‘day off’.
Anyway, first glance at the morning radar image shows a big blob of green and yellow headed towards the Gorge and Mt. Hood. My incredible forecasting powers predict precipitation in the Gorge this morning, dissipating this afternoon. Along with the rain, we’ll have light west wind. Tomorrow brings a few rain showers, with very light west wind. Thursday brings light east wind, clouds and showers.
If, by some miracle, the rain should sidestep the central Gorge, it’ll be a lovely day for riding mountain bikes. Washington side are screaming, “Ride me!” with perfect dirt and light wind. They were yesterday, anyway. Family Man and 8-Track are snow-free as well, should you having a curse-the-Hood-River-Bridge kind of day. Reports are that Whoopdee still has snow.

On Mt. Hood, snow will fall, refreshing the faux spring snowpack into something more closely resembling mid-winter snow. The snow level today will be 4000′ early, dropping to 2500′ in the afternoon. Mt. Hood will see .2-.4” water value by 4pm, for 2-4” of new snow. Another .2-.4” WV falls tonight, for 2-4” more. Wind today will be WSW 30-35 all day.
Tomorrow brings light snowfall, with the snow level at 1500′ early and 2500′ in the afternoon. We’ll see .1-.2” WV by 4pm, for 1-2” of new snow. Another .1-.2” falls in the wee hours of Thursday morning, for 1-3” by 4am Thursday. Wind Wednesday will be WSW 35, becoming SW 30 in the afternoon.
Thursday brings more snow flurries, with the snow level at 2500′ all day. Snowfall will be light, with .1-.2” WV by 4pm for 1-2” of new snow. Wind Thursday will be SW 30 early, dropping to SW 20 mid-morning.
Friday starts off partly cloudy, becoming clear, with north wind and the freezing level at 1500′. The weekend looks sunny on Mt. Hood.
Have an awesome day today!
