Good morning!

This is going to be quick, because I’m powder-crazed.

The snow level is around 2000’ right now, with flurries and sunbreaks on the slopes. Temps will hold today. Winds will be W 30-35 early, going to SW 20-25 by 2pm. Total snowfall today will be 1-3” during the day.

Tomorrow looks great, with heavy snowfall starting tonight and continuing through noon, becoming moderate after that through midnight or a little later. Total water value will be 1-1.5” for 12-16” of new with the snow level at a happy 1000-2000’. Wind will be SW 30-40 early, going to W 20-25 by 11am and WNW 10-15 by 4pm.

Thursday looks partly cloudy with snow flurries and 1-3” of new. The freezing level will be around 1000’ early, rising to 3000’ in the warmest part of the day. Wind will be NW 15-20.

Friday looks clear with high temps in the low to mid thirties with light wind.

Windsurfing or kiting in the eastern Gorge looks okay today with gusty 23-28 in the afternoon east of Doug’s. Tomorrow brings gusty 17-20 in the eastern Gorge.

Have a great day today!

Good morning!

It’s clear, cold and calm on Mt. Hood today and it’s going to stay that way through this afternoon. Clouds will move in overnight with snow flurries starting around midnight. Winds will be W 5-10, picking up to W 10-15 mid-afternoon. We’ll see an inch or so of new tonight.

Tomorrow looks a bit questionable. The snow level starts at 2000’, but warm air will move over the top of cold air in place, giving us a decent chance of freezing rain or snow mixed with rain or super heavy rimed snow between 2pm and 10pm. We’ll see a total of 1-1.5” of WV before Tuesday morning. I think we’ll see some wet stuff early, followed by 6-8” of new snow overnight as the snow level drops to 4000’ by 11pm and 2000’ by Tuesday morning. Winds will be WSW 35-40 early, building to WSW 40-45 by 2pm.

Tuesday looks fun, with new snow on the ground and continued snowfall. The snow level will be at 2000’ early, falling to 1000’ by 8am. Snow flurries continue all day, becoming moderate overnight. Total snowfall will be .5-.75” WV, for a couple of inches during the day and 5-7” overnight. Winds will be W 30-35 early, dropping to W 25-30 by noon.

Wednesday looks fun, with more new snow on the ground and moderate to heavy snowfall all day. The snow level will hold at 2000’, and we’ll get another .75-1.0” WV for 8-12” of new falling continuously all day. Winds will be WSW 40-45 early, dropping to 30-35 by 11am and dropping to W 15-20 by 4pm.

The windsurfing/kiting forecast doesn’t look great, with mid-teens in the eastern Gorge as the systems roll through.

Have a great day today!
