Good morning!

Mountain Weather Forecast
It’s sunny, the winds are calm, and it’s going to hit 32-35 degrees at 5000’ today.

Tomorrow will be sunny with light wind and the 5000’ temp hitting 47-50 degrees. Tomorrow is customer appreciation day at Skibowl with free lift tickets. Nachos are not free.

Monday looks partly cloudy, becoming cloudy later, with a chance of snow overnight with winds SW at 25-30mph, rising to 30-40 by midday.

Gorge Wind Forecast
Today’s going to be windy. The low clouds are just past Hood River, which means the steadiest wind will be from Mosier eastward. Look for 18-22 this morning picking up to 24-28 this afternoon from Mosier to The Wall. The wind will fill back to Stevenson and Hood River, but will be a little gusty in the 18-21 range all day.

Tomorrow looks light, with a little bit of east wind. Monday morning looks light, but as a front approaches in the morning, westerlies pick up to 17-20 from Stevenson to Mosier, quickly shifting out east, where it will be gustier, building to the 25-29 range. Best quality will be at Arlington or Avery.

Other stuff
The Banff Mountain Film Festival plays at Andrew’s today and tomorrow. Today and tomorrow also brings the Bear Spring Trap mountain bike race. Tomorrow you can score free acupuncture at Gorge Community Acupuncture. Monday is Meadows Employee ski day. If you are thinking of skinning, you’ll have to stay out of the resort until they are closed for the season, as the no uphill traffic policy still applies.

Have an awesome day today!

Very Quick 4/29 Forecast

Good morning everyone in the Gorge!

It really looked like yesterday was going to be the final powder day of ski season, but I was wrong. Today is the final powder day of ski season. Meadows had 4” of new overnight and Timberline had 5” of new. Winds this morning are 20-30 miles per hour, and it looks like the mountain will see sunbreaks and flurries today. Skibowl was closed all week, and they’re open today, so all that new snow is untracked. Today’s your chance for fresh tracks there!

Tomorrow looks sunny and beautiful on the mountain with high temps at 5000 feet just above freezing. Sunday looks warm and sunny, with the temperature at the Meadows base reaching the upper 40’s in the afternoon.

If you want to double up today, it’s going to be windy this afternoon. The early gradient is at .07, and that’s enough for 15-18 early. The wind will pick up this afternoon, blowing 21-23 near Hood River and 24-28 from Rowena to Maryhill. Tomorrow looks windy as well, with 17-21 near Hood River in the morning, filling in from Mosier to Maryhill in the afternoon in the 23-26 range, but likely becoming gusty in the afternoon as well.

Sunday looks light.

In other news, the Banff Mountain Film Festival is tonight, Saturday and Sunday at the Skylight theatre. Tomorrwo and Sunday there’s the Bear Springs Trap mountain bike race, and on Sunday, for international workers’ day, there’s free acupuncture at Gorge Community Acupuncture.

Have a great day today!
