Good morning,
You know how I feel about boring weather, right? Boring weather makes for uninteresting forecasting. The most exciting thing I can say today is that I’m quite pleased about the morels I found in my yard a few days back. It seems so early, but they’re here. It must be spring – my belly tells me so! Also, it’s about to be relatively warm and partly sunny for the next week, so if you’ve had enough of winter – as weak as it’s been this year – relief is here.
In Gorge weather, we’ll have temps in the low 30’s this morning and low 50’s this afternoon under partly cloudy sky with east wind rising to 26-30 this afternoon. Tuesday looks partly to mostly clear, becoming cloudier in the afternoon, with temps in the low 40’s early and low 50’s in the afternoon. Wind will be light. Wednesday looks partly cloudy with a chance of sprinkles late. Temps will be in the mid 40’s early and the upper 50’s to low 60’s in the afternoon with light wind. Thursday looks like a repeat of Wednesday.

The Mt. Hood forecast is less interesting than the valley forecast. We’re under a split flow regime, which is sending the precipitation anywhere but here. Today will be partly cloudy on Mt. Hood, becoming cloudier as the day goes on, with a few flurries possible but unlikely. The snow level will rise to 5000′ by mid-morning with light and variable wind.
Tuesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with the snow level at 5000′ early and 4000′ in the afternoon. Some flurries may fall overnight, for less than 1” of new. Wind will be light and variable, becoming E at 10mph.
Wednesday sees the snow level at 4000′ early, rising to 5500′ in the afternoon. Flurries start in the evening, for .1-.3” water value (WV) for an inch or two of new, or maybe a mix of rain and snow. Wind will be S 10, becoming SW 15 in the evening.
Thursday looks partly cloudy with the freezing level at 5500′ early and 6500′ in the afternoon with SW wind at 15mph.
