A weak system pushed across the state last night, and that’s going to give us the last westerlies for a few days. We’ll see 20-23 from Stevenson to Mosier this morning, holding through midday, and then slowly fading this afternoon.

A strong ridge of high pressure builds in this afternoon and tonight, and that will turn the wind offshore. Tomorrow morning brings east wind in the 22-25 range from Rooster Rock to Stevenson and light wind near Hood River. Tomorrow afternoon we’ll see east wind pick up to 10-15 from Viento to The Dalles.

The Clymb: free membership.
Access to super cheap gear including Trew, Zeal, Sierra Designs, and many more.

On Sunday, we’ll see highs near 90, with east wind at 15-18 near Stevenson in the morning, fading to 5-10 in the afternoon. There’s not much wind in the extended forecast either, with Monday through Wednesday looking like wakeboarding and standup paddling weather.

In events, come on down to the warming shelter coalition’s dunk tank tonight at 2nd and Oak in Hood River at 5:45 and knock me into the water, and if you’d prefer to get back at Katie Crafts, she’s on the hot seat at 7.

Coming up tomorrow, it’s day one of the Sandy Super D race, with a chainless downhill race. And then on Sunday, it’s the actual Super D race, so cheer from afar for our local riders, many of whom have a shot at a medal. And finally, on Sunday, don’t miss the CGWA swap meet at the Hood River Expo Center.

Have an awesome day today!
