We’re going to see another windy day on the Columbia today, and if you’ll be out on the river, you’ll have some competition from the sailboats doing the double damned race from Cascade Locks to Stevenson. Best of luck to all the racers today!

It’s quite early as I write this, and still pitch black out. I have no idea where the cloud line is at, but it’s cold and breezy in Hood River and that’s a good sign for wind. The wind this morning will be in the 18-22 range from the Hatchery to Mosier, picking up to 24-28 from Stevenson to Mosier by midday. When afternoon rolls around, the wind will pick up to 24-28 out near Doug’s and Rowena, with wind in the eastern Gorge in the upper teens.
We’ll see even less low clouds tomorrow morning, and Portland should clear out pretty early, so we’ll have a little less wind. We’ll start off with 16-19, building to 21-24, with the strongest wind from Stevenson to Hood River early, shifting to Doug’s and Rowena late.
Monday looks a lot like Sunday, with minimal low clouds in the morning giving us15-18 early and 19-23 in the afternoon, with the strongest wind in the morning happening near Hood River and the strongest wind late near The Dalles.
In events, as you’ve been hearing all week, it’s the Oakridge Super D, along with Mitchell from Dirty Fingers’ birthday tomorrow. If you don’t want to drive three hours, stick around here and catch the movie in the Park tonight starting at dusk.
