6/17 Forecast

Well guess what… it’s going to be windy again today. Westerlies blow in the 10-15 range near Hood River this morning, picking up to 18-21 from Stevenson to Mosier midday, and then, as a system approaches late, picking up into the mid-twneties at Stevenson and the 24-26 range out at Arlington while holding in the upper teens to low twenties near Hood River.

Access to super cheap gear including Trew, Zeal, Sierra Designs, and many more.

We’ll have more west wind on Saturday, with lots of clouds and weak gradients to start. The wind will be in the 10-15 range early, picking up to 21-24 east of Hood River in the afternoon.

Coming up Sunday, we’ll have a cloudy start with westerlies in the 10-15 range near Hood River. By mid-morning, we should see 21-24 from Hood River to Rowena, ten picking up to 27-31 from Rowena to Arlington mid-afternoon.

In off-the water events, there’s a lot going on this weekend, especially tomorrow. If you’re a kiteboarder or want to watch kiteboarding, there’s the Cabrinha race at the Hood River Marina (yeah, I know, that’s on the water, but spectating is not). For runners, there’s the White Salmon Backyard ½ Marathon, benefiting the local cross-country team. There’s also a work party in Post Canyon at 9, the Kayak Shed’s Saturday paddle at 10, and at 8pm in Portland, there’s the World Naked Bike Ride. For gardeners, there’s the Master Gardeners’ garden tour going on most of the day, and for all of you, there’s 2nd Wind’s summer opener party at the British Pub in Hood River starting at 9pm.

Have an awesome day today!
