Gorge Wind Forecast

Not much wind for Friday, but there will be lots of rain AND wind on Saturday. Moderate westerlies in the eastern Gorge Sunday might be just enough to get you out on the river. Expect light westerlies this morning as gradients hang at .03 and .03 to start the day. Afternoon wind picks up to 12-15 from Stevenson to Hood River and fills to Rufus after 5pm. River flow is 76,300cfs, temp is 65, and high temp forecast today is 70.

Saturday will very wet all day in the western Gorge. You’ll have to head east of the Dalles to get out of the rain and find the wind. Morning westerlies, in the rain, will be 18-23 west of Hood River and east of The Dalles with calm wind in the central Gorge. Afternoon: gusty 25-29 Avery to Boardman. High temp: 62.

Sunday will be rainy everywhere most of the day. You may find a late morning to early afternoon dry spell east of The Dalles. The rain, of course, affects your ability to get on the water. Expect 8-11 everywhere in the morning. From 8am to 2pm, the wind rises to 18-22 east of The Dalles. Can’t promise it’ll be dry or long-lasting; the wind backs down into the single digits or low double digits from mid-afternoon on. High temp: 60.

Coast, Jones, Sauvie’s

Coast (north/central/south, waves. Direction north unless otherwise noted. Swell forecast from NWS.) Stormy, rainy weather for the next three days at the coast. Nothin’ at Jones and Sauvie’s.
