Good morning!

Quickie…

It’s snowing. The snow level today will be around 2500’ early, rising to 3500’ by 11am and holding for the rest of the day. Snowfall will be light to moderate through 10am, becoming light midday, picking up again from 5pm-11pm and becoming light overnight. Winds will be SW 20-30 early, dropping to 15-20 midday and rising to SW 25-35 by 8pm. Total precip will be .25-.5” of water value (WV) for 4-6” of new snow.

Tomorrow looks fun. Snow will be moderate to heavy all day long, from 5am-8pm, with .5-.75” of WV for 6-9” of new snow. The snow level will be around 1500’ all day. Winds will be SW 25-35 early, dropping to SW 15-25 by noon.

The snow level will be around 1000’ Monday morning rising to 3000’ in the afternoon with cloudy skies and snow flurries all day. We’ll see .25-.5” of WV, most likely the lower end, for 3-4” of new. Winds Monday will be W 25-30 dropping to W 15-20 late afternoon.

Tuesday looks snowy too, with the snow level at 2000’ and .25-.5” water value for 4-5” of new falling throughout the day. Winds will be WSW 35-45 early building to a possibly problematic W 35-45 by 11am and slowly dropping to W 25-35 by 4pm.

Good morning!

Now, I don’t know who was going around yesterday telling people it would be sunny today, but that wasn’t me. Today’s going to be snowy on Mt. Hood. We’ll see moderate to heavy snow through 2pm or so for .5” of water value and 4-6” of new snow. The snow level will be 2000’ early, rising to 4-5000’ by 5pm. There is a chance of some overrunning warm air messing with snow quality or possibly messing with the precip type around 2-5pm. East winds will be 30-35 early, hanging out most of the day, and dropping to E 10-15 or maybe switching to the south, depending on elevation, by 4pm, as an upper level low heads north over the Coast Range.

Tomorrow looks dry to start, with snow starting around 10am. The snow level will be 3500’ early, falling to 2000’ by 11am, with .4-.5” of water value for 4-5” of new snow during the day. Winds will be W 5-10 early, building to W 10-20 midday and W 30-40 by 8pm.

Tuesday looks colder and partly cloudy early with a chance of flurries midday for less than an inch of new. The snow level will be 1000’ early, rising to 4000’ in the afternoon. The wind will be 20-25 early, going to SW 5-10 by 11am.

Wednesday starts off dry, with the free air freezing level at 1500’. We’ll see snow start by 10am, for .3-.4” water value and 2-4” of new snow. Winds will be east 10-20 all day (and you can triple that for the upper mountain).

If you’re looking for windsurfing or kiting, you’ll find easterlies today in the 25-30 range at Rooster and 20-25 range at Stevenson. We’ll have strong westerlies overnight on Monday, maybe lingering in the 17-21 range in the desert Tuesday morning. Gorge winds will switch back to the east on Wednesday as another upper low rotates off the coast.

Have a great day today!
