Very Quick 4/29 Forecast

Good morning everyone in the Gorge!

It really looked like yesterday was going to be the final powder day of ski season, but I was wrong. Today is the final powder day of ski season. Meadows had 4” of new overnight and Timberline had 5” of new. Winds this morning are 20-30 miles per hour, and it looks like the mountain will see sunbreaks and flurries today. Skibowl was closed all week, and they’re open today, so all that new snow is untracked. Today’s your chance for fresh tracks there!

Tomorrow looks sunny and beautiful on the mountain with high temps at 5000 feet just above freezing. Sunday looks warm and sunny, with the temperature at the Meadows base reaching the upper 40’s in the afternoon.

If you want to double up today, it’s going to be windy this afternoon. The early gradient is at .07, and that’s enough for 15-18 early. The wind will pick up this afternoon, blowing 21-23 near Hood River and 24-28 from Rowena to Maryhill. Tomorrow looks windy as well, with 17-21 near Hood River in the morning, filling in from Mosier to Maryhill in the afternoon in the 23-26 range, but likely becoming gusty in the afternoon as well.

Sunday looks light.

In other news, the Banff Mountain Film Festival is tonight, Saturday and Sunday at the Skylight theatre. Tomorrwo and Sunday there’s the Bear Springs Trap mountain bike race, and on Sunday, for international workers’ day, there’s free acupuncture at Gorge Community Acupuncture.

Have a great day today!
