Good morning!

Quickie…

It’s snowing. The snow level today will be around 2500’ early, rising to 3500’ by 11am and holding for the rest of the day. Snowfall will be light to moderate through 10am, becoming light midday, picking up again from 5pm-11pm and becoming light overnight. Winds will be SW 20-30 early, dropping to 15-20 midday and rising to SW 25-35 by 8pm. Total precip will be .25-.5” of water value (WV) for 4-6” of new snow.

Tomorrow looks fun. Snow will be moderate to heavy all day long, from 5am-8pm, with .5-.75” of WV for 6-9” of new snow. The snow level will be around 1500’ all day. Winds will be SW 25-35 early, dropping to SW 15-25 by noon.

The snow level will be around 1000’ Monday morning rising to 3000’ in the afternoon with cloudy skies and snow flurries all day. We’ll see .25-.5” of WV, most likely the lower end, for 3-4” of new. Winds Monday will be W 25-30 dropping to W 15-20 late afternoon.

Tuesday looks snowy too, with the snow level at 2000’ and .25-.5” water value for 4-5” of new falling throughout the day. Winds will be WSW 35-45 early building to a possibly problematic W 35-45 by 11am and slowly dropping to W 25-35 by 4pm.

Gotta go.

Have a great day today!

Good morning!

It looks like spring is going to come roaring in next Wednesday, but until then, winter is still here and it’s going to let you know that over the next 5 days.

Today looks fun on the mountain, with 5” of new snow. Sure, it’s not super deep epic powpow, but who (insert f-bomb) cares? It’s new snow, and it’s late in the season, and you might as well shred it for a couple of hours if you can. I can. Want to give me a ride to the hill? We’ll see another 2-3” of snow during the day today with the snow level at 2000-2500’ (yeah, little Skibowl gets some too… actually, little Skibowl is going to get snow every day!). Winds will be light: SW 10-15 all day, rising to SW 20-25 by 8pm.

Heavy snowfall starts by 2am Saturday morning, with moderate snowfall all day long. The snow level will be 2000’ early rising to 3000’ by 2pm and falling back to 1500’ by Sunday morning. We’ll see .5-.75” water value for 7-10” of new snow. Winds will be SW 20-30 early, falling to SW 15-20 by 2pm and rising to SW 25-30 by 8pm.

Sunday looks snowy too, with moderate snowfall until 5am, becoming heavy between 5am and 5pm (sorry parking lot workers… the rest of you bring a shovel with you). Total precip will be .5-.75” of WV for 7-10” of new with the snow level at a charming and smile-producing 1500’. =) Winds will be SW 30-35 early, falling to 15-25 by 2pm and then going to a not-so-nice W 25-30 by 5pm, switching to a nasty NW 30-35 around 10pm, which will have no effect on you as a skier, other than to affect snow quality on Monday morning.

Monday most of you will be back at work, and I’ll be at Crystal taking a well-deserved couple of days off , if you can call skiing almost 4000’ of vert a day off (I do). It’s been about 2 years since I had a vacation, so sorry, but no forecast for you for a few days. In the mountains, snow will keep falling… just a couple inches, but with the snow level at 1500’, the snow will be in good shape. Next big snowfall, if the forecast holds, is Monday night into Tuesday.

Wednesday and Thursday look warm. Really warm. Almost warm enough for me to break out the bikini and work on my tan lines.

I just reread this forecast for typos… sometimes I’m on autopilot when I do it… anyway, this weekend looks pretty darn good for skiing, doesn’t it? I didn’t catch that the first time around… =)

If you’re looking for wind in the Gorge, we’ll have gusty easterlies for the rest of today, hitting the 17-23 range at Stevenson and 25-30 range at Rooster. After today, we’ll have gusty, wet westerlies in the 17-21 range out east.

Have a great day today!
