Good morning!

There’s a stalled front well south of Mt. Hood this morning, and that’s giving us some high clouds, but we should see filtered sun or straight up sunshine today. The free air freezing level will rise to around 5-6000’ with the sunshine today, hopefully thawing out the ice on the ground. NW winds will slowly decrease today, dropping to 15-25 by 2pm.

Tomorrow starts off clear, with high clouds moving in by 2pm. The FAF starts at 500’, rising to around 5000’ in the afternoon. Winds will be NW 15-25 all day. We’ll see a couple inches of snow overnight tomorrow night.

Tuesday looks cloudy early with clear skies by noon. Winds will be NW 20-30 early, going to W 10-15 by 2pm.

Wednesday looks clear and sunny.

The wind forecast is starting to look good as well. High pressure sets up over the Pacific with a low pressure trough along the coast. Without daytime heating, we won’t have super strong westerlies, but there will be enough wind for sailing the next few days. The gradient is at .08 this morning, so give it a couple of hours and we’ll have 17-21 from Stevenson to the Sandbar, filling in to Doug’s and Maryhill this afternoon in the 18-22 range.

Tomorrow starts off with light wind, but it will pick up to 17-20 from Stevenson to Hood River by 1pm. Doug’s and Mosier see 22-25 in the afternoon.

Tuesday looks light as high pressure builds across the Cascades.

Tomorrow and Tuesday look windy at the coast as well, with 25-30 at Pistol and 20-25 at the central coast with a 5 foot SW swell at 9 seconds.

Sailboat racing season starts this Wednesday.

Have a great day today!
