Gorge Wind Forecast

Very chilly easterlies are on the schedule for Sunday and Monday. For Sunday, expect 30-35 all day at Stevenson. At Rooster, the wind starts at 20-25 and picks up to 25-30. Viento will be 20-25 all day. Rest of the Gorge: light. Monday brings 25-30 at Rooster, 20-25 at Stevenson, and 15-20 at Viento for the morning. Rooster drops to 5-10 in the afternoon, and Stevenson drops to 10-15. Tuesday starts light and variable. Mid-afternoon sees the wind pick up to west 10-13 from Stevenson to Moiser.

Coast (north/central/south, waves. Direction north unless otherwise noted. Swell forecast from NWS.) Sunday: NE10-20/NE20-25/N30-35, NW swell 4′ @ 13 seconds. Monday: N10-15+/N20-25/25-30, W 4′ @ 15. Tuesday: 10-15/20-25/25-30, W 4′ @ 13. Jones Sunday-Tuesday: light. Sauvie’s Sunday: easterlies. Monday: 11-14. Tuesday: 5-8.  

Hood River Weather Forecast

Clear sky this morning stays clear all day. Temps will be in the upper 20’s early and low 40’s later. Light east wind. No rainbows. Monday will be clear and very dry as the dewpoint drops into the single digits in many areas. Temps will be in the low to mid 20’s early and near 50 later. Light easterlies going calm in the afternoon. No rainbows. Tuesday may start with a Nothing cloud but will tun sunny. Temps will be right near freezing in the morning and in the mid 50’s later. Cycling

10/15: Motorized us is open on ALL Hood River County Land now. Kreps lands have reopened per their FB page. Hood River County lands have reopened. 0.8” rain fell on Saturday, 10/10 in Hood River. Mt. Hood National Forest: some areas have reopened. Expect many downed trees. Check their website for details. Syncline/Coyote Wall: reopened. SDS and BLC lands: open. Snow fell on trails above 5000′ on Saturday night, but that should be washed away by Tuesday afternoon.

Local Events

Weekly events: The Kainos Coffee run happens in The Dalles every Tuesday morning at 6am. There are sailboat races at the Hood River Marina every Wednesday evening. Dirty Fingers has a group mountain bike ride Thursday nights at 5:30pm. The small boat group has a friendly and distanced paddle on, I believe, Thursday nights. Cheno has an outdoor HIIT workout at Griffin House in Hood River at 6pm on Wednesday nights. It appears there is also some sort of sailboat regatta every Friday night. That’s pretty much it for outdoor sports. There is a BLM rally every Tuesday evening at 5:30 at the Salmon Fountain in Hood River, and there’s a White Coats for BLM rally every Wednesday evening at 6pm at 12th and May.   Have an awesome day!
