Good morning!
First, thanks to Cascade Acupuncture for supporting the forecast this week. If you haven’t tried acupuncture before, they’re happy to give you a free 15 minute consultation with the Acupuncurist (no treatment, but lots of great information). You’ll get an office tour, and insurance check, and Chinese Midical Pulse Diagnosis, and answers to all your questions about how acupuncture can help heal your injuries. Give them a call at 541-387-heal.
The west wind keeps on blowing today. With the clouds past Hood River this morning, the strongest wind will be east of Mosier likely at Doug’s and Maryhill, but possibly confined to Maryhill and Arlington. It’s already blowing in the low twenties out there, and with .08 from The Dalles to Pasco already, it’s only going to get windier. Winds build through the day, maxing out in the 25-28 range late afternoon. As always, you can stay under the clouds for gusty 14-18.
Tomorrow looks lighter, with partly sunny skies and west winds in the 13-16 range in the afternoon from Viento down to Doug’s Beach. The early model runs for the weekend look good, with a big west wind day on Saturday.
If you’re looking for after-work fun tonight, and you want to mountain bike ride, the Post and Pint out of Dirty Fingers is on with perfect dirt. Meet at the shop at 5:30 for a lap through Post, followed by a pint. Down at the Event Site, Big Winds has standup paddle races tonight, weather permitting. It’s just $5 to race, and rental boards are available.
Coming up tomorrow, the Disco Divas ride Knebal Spring and 8-mile. This is a women’s only mountain bike ride. If you’d like to join, give Discover Bikes a call today. Also starting tomorrow is the Bridge of the Gods Kiteboarding festival in Stevenson. There are lots of great riders in town for that event, so it should be great spectating. Go check it out!
And on Saturday, there’s the unofficial White Salmon half marathon. Meet at Everybody’s Brewing at 9am for a beautiful run through the woods.
Finally, boaters, the Hood’s at 4.35 feet and the Klickitat’s at 2310 cfs.
Have a great day today!
