It was snowing on Mt. Hood as of 6am, and should continue to snow for a few more hours before we see a switch to rain late this morning. The snow level today will be 4000′ early, rising to 6500′ by noon, 8000′ this evening, and dropping to 5000′ tomorrow morning after the precip is pretty much done. We’ll see .9” water value (WV) between this morning and 4pm. We’ll probably see 2-4” of dense snow followed by rain. Models aren’t all that clear on the amount of rain tonight. Given the strong SW wind (not as orographically favorable as W or NW) and model tendencies to underestimate Pineapply events, I think we’ll see 1-2” of rain tonight. Wind will be SW 10-15 early, rising to SW 30 by 1pm and picking up to SW 40 in the afternoon and evening. You can double those wind speeds for 9000′! Continued after the chart.

Road and Mountain Biking
Syncline was off the freakin’ charts yesterday with perfect dirt and tons of wildflowers. OMG was Moab perfect. Yeah! It’s going to rain today and mess up all the trails, but maybe, just maybe if you’re up with the sun you’ll get some before it’s gone.
