Temira’s random morning thoughts
I don’t have time for morning thoughts. It’s ripping windy already. I need to cook breakfast and go windsurfing.
Wind forecast
My guess is lots of you will be out on the water this morning, enjoying another Classic Gorge Day. Yesterday, in case you hadn’t figured it out, was a Classic Gorge day. It was “nukin’”. It was “epic”, dude. Today will do the same, although a *passing shortwave will possibly make it gusty midday, could knock the Corridor wind down a bit, and will likely make Stevenson even windier than it was yesterday. Or maybe the wave will be too weak to have much effect other than driving wind in the upper valleys. Just be forewarned that this little weather system could have a detrimental effect, and go to the beach anyway with your smallest gear. That’s what I’m doing.
So, to simplify: 26-30 dawn patrol near Hood River, followed by nuking conditions midday, followed by 26-30 this evening when Doug’s sees 30+. I really thought The Wall would join the fun today, but models don’t think so. Bummer. Oh well. I’m sure the Hatch/HR/etc will be great too!
Tomorrow starts with 26-30+ near Hood river, but fades a little in the afternoon as the Portland clouds dissipate earlier. Tuesday looks lighter, with westerlies in the upper teens or low twenties, but the wind looks like it will pick up again after Tuesday. Sorry, Brad. I know you hate the wind.

Bike News
There is no bike news. It’s way to windy to ride a bike. My friend Tim rode his bike to The Dalles from Hood River and back home over Sevenmile yesterday. He’s insane. Do not attempt that today.
Very Important News
First thing this morning is a big thank you to everyone who did Relay for Life over the last 24 hours. You guys raised around $40,000 – a big shoutout goes to the top three fundraisers: Valori Worth, Marilynn Shaw, and MJ Newcomb. If you want to cheer everyone on as they finish, head to Hood River High School – the event wraps up at 10 this morning.
