Good morning!
Guess what guys? It’s time for the return of sponsors and prize giveaways! Yes, that’s right! It’s Sunday, and that’s how the weather will start off on Mt. Hood today: Sun-ny! Clouds move in early afternoon, and snow starts falling by 7pm. The freezing level will be at 3000’ early, dropping to 2500’ by 1pm and 500’ by 7pm. Wind will be WNW 10-15, switching to WSW 10-15 by 1pm. Total precip overnight will be around .3” water value (WV) for 2-4” of new snow by 4am Monday.
We’ll see continuing snow flurries through the day Monday with the snow level at 500’ early, rising to 1000’ around 7am. Wind will be NW 15-20 early, becoming light and variable. Total snowfall before 4pm will be .1-.2” WV for 2-3” of new snow, at best.
Flurries continue Tuesday morning with the snow level less than 1000’. Those flurries should end by 10am, with skies slowly clearing. Wind will be NW 5-10 becoming light E or light and variable. Total snowfall will be .1-.2” WV for 1-2” of new.
Models suggest clear skies and light NW wind on Wednesday, with the snow level at 1000’ early, rising to 7500’ in the afternoon as high pressure builds over the Northwest. After Wednesday, models are all over the place, but are suggesting a return to a wetter pattern towards the end of the week. Cross your fingers.
As for the chance of snow in the Gorge, I’d say it’s pretty likely tonight, with 1-2” falling overnight.
