Good morning!
After a few weeks of interesting forecasting, we’re back to the boring, sunny stuff.
Today looks sunny, with warming temperatures. Temps will be pretty stable from 0-8000’ by 10am, right around freezing. The free air freezing level (FAF) will rise to 8000’ by 1pm, with temps in the low to mid thirties, and then dropping back to around 32 degrees by 4pm. Wind will be NE 10-15 in the morning, rising to NE 20-25 by 1pm and E 30+ by 4pm. Watch out for the possibility of even stronger east winds, depending on the depth of the cold pool east of the Cascades.
Tomorrow looks sunny and dry, with a developing inversion. Temps will be above freezing, perhaps 34-38, from 5000’-10000’, dropping back to 32 around 4pm, with the same temp from sea level to 10000’. Wind will be SE 20-25 early, swinging to SSE 15-25 in the afternoon.
Saturday looks sunny and cooler, with temps just below freezing from 0-10,000’ in the morning, with the free air freezing level at 1500’ in the afternoon. Wind will be SE 10-15 early, dropping to S 10-15 in the afternoon.
Sunday likely brings some high clouds. The free air freezing level will be at 5500’ all day with SW wind at 5-10mph.
Looks like we’ll be dry on Monday, with light precip of some variety returning Tuesday and Wednesday.
Windsurfers and kiters will find very strong east wind this afternoon at Stevenson and Rooster. Tomorrow looks very windy all day, and Sunday looks very windy in the morning, fading by afternoon.
