Good morning!
It’s snowing on Mt.Hood now, after about .4” of rain last night. The snow level will keep dropping today, from around 3500’ this morning to 1000’ this afternoon. We’re post-frontal now, so we’ll have orographic flurries for 2” of new snow today. The wind will be strong westerly this morning at 30-40+, dropping to W 25-35 by 1pm and NW 10-20 by 4pm. Skies should clear in the late afternoon.
Tomorrow starts off clear, with clouds by early afternoon and snow starting around 4pm. We’ll get 2” of snow overnight with the snow level at 500-1000’. Wind tomorrow will be W 5-10 early, picking up to 10-20 early afternoon and NW 20-30 by 7pm.
Saturday morning starts with a few flurries, becoming partly cloudy to clear by 10am. The freezing level will be around 1000’ early, rising to 6500’ by 7pm. Wind will be NW 10-20 early, backing off to W 5-10 in the evening.
Sunday looks dry and clear with SW wind at 10-20. A weak system may come in sometime Monday, but other than that, the extended forecast looks pretty dry.
Coming up over the next few days, there’s the Dimwits with Bright Lights night ride at the Cascade Locks EasyCLIMB trail tomorrow night at 6:30, there’s a XC race at the Meadows Nordic Center on Saturday, free acupuncture at Gorge Community Acupuncture on Saturday, and the Teacup Nordic Tea Party on Sunday. Also on Saturday, it’s the Hood River Weather chatroom Capricorn birthday party at Everybody’s starting at 4:30.
Have a great day today!
