Good morning!
It’s a breezy morning on Mt. Hood, and it’s going to stay breezy all day. The freezing level will be 10000’ early, dropping a bit to 9000’ by 7pm and dropping to 5500-6000’ by 10pm. Precip starts around 5-7pm, sadly falling as rain through midnight or so. We’ll see .3” of rain/freezing rain/lifties’ favorite conditions by midnight. The wind will be SW 35-40+ this morning, picking up to SW 40-60 by 1pm and holding all night long.
The r**n switches to snow around midnight, for 3” or so by 7am as the freezing level falls to 1500’ by 7am We’ll get another 1-2” between 7am and 4pm in orographic snow showers. The wind tomorrow will be SW 40-60 early, going to WSW 40-50 by 7am, W 35-40 by 10am and NW 20-25 by 4pm.
Friday looks clear and dry with high clouds moving in during the afternoon. The freezing level will be around 1000’ with light and variable wind.
Saturday looks clear and cold, with the freezing level around 1000’ and light and variable wind becoming W 10-15. Models are disagreeing on Sunday, with one showing a weak warm front and one showing sunshine, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
Coming up the rest of this week, the Dimwits With Bright Lights ride the Cascade Locks EasyCLIMB trail Friday night starting at 6:30 (bring your stick and something to roast on it), there’s free acupuncture at Gorge Community Acupuncture on Saturday. There’s a 10k Nordic race at Meadows. On Sunday, it’s the annual Tea Party at Teacup Nordic and it’s my birthday. =)
Have a great day today!
