Mt. Hood Weather forecast

The snow level is going to bounce around a bit this week. Meadows and T-Line are going to alternate between rain and snow. Base elevation at Skibowl will stay rain. For those of you hoping for a snowy hike or ski, there’s a chance this upcoming week!

Let’s look at Sunday. It’ll be rain all day with a short period of colder weather and near-lack of precip tonight. The snow level starts at 9000′ and falls to 6500′ this afternoon and 4500′ this evening before bumping back to 5500′ after midnight. A total of about 0.6” water equivalent (WE) falls as rain during the day followed by a trace of snow overnight. Wind: SSW 25-45 this morning, SW 20-35 this afternoon, and SW 30-50 overnight.

Monday starts with the snow level around 5000′. It rises to 6000′ midday and then falls to 4000′ overnight. About 0.2” WE is forecast for the daytime. That’ll be mixed precip with minimal accumulation. Overnight, models suggest about 0.9” WE as snow, for 6-8” new at 5000′. Wind: SW 30-50 early fades to SW 20-40 in the afternoon and turns to WSW 30-40 overnight. By sunrise, the wind drops to SW 15-20.

Tuesday starts with light snowfall and the snow level around 4000′. It quickly rises to 6000′ as 850mb temps rise to +3C. The snow level falls back down to 4000′ after midnight. 0.7” WE of mixed precip, rain, or wet snow is forecast during the day (no prediction accumulation). That’s followed by 0.2-0.3” WE overnight for 1-2” snow. Wind: SW 15-320 in the morning turns to WSW 30-45 in the afternoon and W 40-45 overnight. Temps warm way up on Wednesday and Thursday. As of now, it looks like the associated atmospheric river will stay to the north, but we’ll keep an eye on it.

Coast, Jones, Coast
