Mt. Hood Weather Forecast
It’s Tuesday, and the sky should clear on the mountain during the day before another round of snow arrives late this evening. Dry weather for much of Wednesday gives way to another round of light snowfall Thursday. Models disagree on precip for Friday, but it does look like we’ll see dry weather for several days after that.
Tuesday’s mountain weather starts off mostly cloudy and turns clear quickly. Snow starts up around 10pm. The snow level will be 0′ with mountain temps in the single digits to low double digits. About 0.2” water value (WV) falls tonight, for 2-3” of dry powder. Wind will be E 10 early, ESE 25 in the afternoon, and SSE 30 overnight.
Light snowfall Wednesday morning gives way to clear sky midday and clouds after midnight. The snow level will be 0′, and mountain temps will be in the teens. Just a trace of snow will fall during the day before the sun comes out. Wind will be S 20 early, SW 20 in the afternoon and evening.
Intermittent snowfall Thursday during the day may give way to a heavier period of snowfall in the afternoon. The snow level will be 0′ near Mt. Hood with mountain temps in the low 20’s. Daytime precip will be 0.2” to 0.5” WV, for 3-6” of regular Cascade powder. Another 0.1” WV falls overnight, for another inch of new. Wind will be SSW 10-15 early, SW 5 in the afternoon, and ENE 10 overnight. Models disagree on the weather Friday (snow or clear), but they do agree on high pressure and dry, cold mountain weather after that, for long-lasting packed powder. Enjoy!
Gorge Wind
Tuesday starts with easterlies at 25-30 at Rooster and Stevenson. The wind picks up to 40-50 near Rooster this afternoon with 30-35 near Stevenson. Overnight, easterlies build to 50-60. Wednesday starts with 50-60 near rooster and 35-40 near Cascade Locks. The wind backs off to 20-25 in the afternoon. Thursday looks like 20-25 from Rooster to Viento in the morning with 15-20 in the afternoon. Lighter wind Friday gives way to stronger easterlies for the extended. River flow is 136kcfs today and river temp sis 36 degrees.

The Nothing is out there this morning, but it should break up today. Clouds move in after sunset along with more snow. Snow starts around midnight with 2-3” new by 10am Wednesday. Temps will be in the mid 20’s early and low 30’s later. East wind. No rainbows. Wednesday starts out snowy and ends up partly cloudy in Hood River. Snow ends around 10am. Temps will be in the low 20’s early and low 30’s later. East wind. No rainbows. Thursday may see lingering snow flurries. 1/2” to 2” accumulation. Temps will be in the low 20’s early and mid 30’s later. East wind. No rainbows.
