Mt. Hood Snow Forecast
I just looked at the Meadows website to check my weather accuracy before writing this, and burst into tears. One of the VP’s wrote today’s snow report. It was all about celebrating diversity, welcoming people, and opening our minds to new experiences. I burst into tears seeing my long-term employer take a public stance on the hateful rhetoric that’s overcome our country. Meadows, I’m so proud to be a part of your team! On to the forecast, expect light flurries today with a chance of sunbreaks and fog this afternoon. The snow level will be less than 500′, and the wind will be NW 20-25 early and light and variable in the afternoon. Continued after the chart…

Mt. Hood Snow Forecast, continued…
Wednesday looks sunny and cold. Temps will be in the teens, with the free air freezing level at the surface. East wind at 20-30 in the morning could cause some minor lift issues (especially at T-line), but the wind should drop off to light and variable in the afternoon.
Thursday starts out clear. Clouds move in during the afternoon and snow starts up in the evening. The snow level, so sorry, will be at your house, zero feet, the surface. Mt. Hood will receive about 4-5” of snow overnight – it’s probably going to be relatively dense snow. Wind will be light and variable early, SE 25 in the afternoon, S 15 in the evening and SW 25 after midnight.

Mt. Hood Snow Forecast, finished
Friday is a little tricky, as a warm system slides over the top of Mt. Hood. The snow/rain ratio is going to depend on the depth of the cold pool… For now, I think we’ll see the snow level at the surface early, rising to 5000′ in the afternoon and possibly climbing as high as 6000′-6500′ overnigth. During the day, there will be about .7” water value (WV), which is probably going to be 3-5” of dense wet snow followed by a bit of rain. With 5000′ temps around 32-34 degrees on Friday night, it’s hard to say right now if we’ll see wet snow or a mix of snow and rain. Guess we’ll have to wait and see. Wind on Friday will be SW 30 in the morning, picking up to SW 35 in the afternoon and evening.
Gorge Wind Forecast
East wind at 10-15 this morning rises to 20-25 this evening. East wind at 45 Wednesday morning rises to 60+ Wednesday evening. East wind hangs at 60mph all day Thursday. East 40+ Friday morning drops to E 30 Friday afternoon.

Random Morning Thoughts
I can’t put it any better than the Mt. Hood Meadows snow report today. Good work, Meadows.
Disclaimer required by my grad school program: I am not your therapist (but I could be 40 graduate school credits from now). I am your weather forecaster. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, and consult with your actual therapist about your mental health issues. One other thing: I plan to keep doing this forecast indefinitely, even when I am a therapist.
Gorge Weather Forecast
Light snow or rain depending on elevation gives way to cloudy sky later. Temps will be in the low to mid 30’s, dropping into the 20’s tonight. East wind. No rainbows. Wednesday looks mostly dry, but one model brings in an inch of snow after 3pm. Temps will be in the mid to upper 20’s. Nuking east wind. No rainbows. Thursday morning will be butt-ass cold if it’s clear (or you’re above the Nothing) and in the low 20’s if it’s cloudy. Snow starts up around 9pm, becoming heavy sometime Friday (models differ). Nuking east wind. No rainbows. Friday and Saturday look like a huge wintry mess.
