Gorge Wind Forecast

Look at that pretty blue sky, the 70 in the forecast, and the whitecaps on the river. Burn that into your memory, because there won’t be much, if any of that in the next six months. For Thursday, most places start with 10-13. We’ll see 16-19 from Viento to Swell this morning before a disturbance shifts the wind east. Expect 10-13 int eh west in the afternoon with gusty 21-25 from Rowena to Arlington. River flow is 75,000cfs, temp is 65, and high temp forecast is 69.

Friday will be cloudy all day. Light westerlies start the day. Afternoon wind picks up to 10-13 from Rowena to Arlington. A strong cold front swings through on Saturday with stronger westerlies for the eastern Gorge. Morning wind will be west 15-18+ from Rooster to Stevenson, maybe Viento. Expect light westerlies everywhere else. In the afternoon, following the front, westerlies pick up to 25-29 from Rowena to Boardman with showery, gusty 13-16 in the west. High temp: 59. Sunday’s forecast is currently gusty 21-25 east of Mosier.
