There’s no wind out there this morning, and there’s pretty much no gradient, but that won’t be the case for the entire day. As this weather system moves through this afternoon, we’ll see the wind pick up to 23-26 east of the low clouds. That’s likely going to be east of The Dalles, but it’s hard to say at this point. Anyway, unless you live out that way, you’re driving for wind today if wind is your goal. Here in the western Gorge, from Stevenson to the cloud line, expect no wind this morning and gusty 12-15 or a touch more this afternoon. Continued after the chart.

Random Morning Thoughts
As I’ve mentioned before, when I’m stumped for what to say in the morning, I’ll ask myself, “What’s alive in you today?”* So, I asked myself this morning, and I felt this wave of love wash over me. I was surprised and intrigued.
When we have friends we care about, we take the time to ask them how they’re doing. Not in a casual, “Hey, what’s up,” kind of way. We ask from the heart. We value the answer.
But we don’t do that for ourselves, and that’s a shame. We’re just as deserving of compassion and genuine inquiry as everyone else!
I’ve just resolved to inquire into my own health each day. I’m going to suggest you do the same. Give yourself the same dose of love you’d give a friend. Once a day, perhaps in the morning, take the time to check in. See where you’re at. If you’re in a good headspace, cultivate it. If you’re not, be extra kind to yourself for the rest of the day. You deserve that kindness. I promise you that you do. And if you can’t give it to yourself, here’s some from me: Have an awesome day.

Road and Mountain Biking
It’s raining out there this morning which is great news for the trails and not-so-great news for road biking. As of 7am, we’d had .05” of rain. That’s not enough to impact the trails, yet. We need at least .1” to make it better and .25” to make it awesome. So, cross your fingers. FYI, Crawford Oaks / Columbia Hills has reopened. If you are riding out there, you must stay on the trails. No riding through the blackened fields. If you do, Ranger Andy will ticket you!
