Thursday. Look at all that blue sky!

Mt. Hood Snow Forecast It’s a beautiful, sunny day with zero snow in the forecast. But how can you complain when it’s a beautiful sunny day in November after the wettest October ever? (I don’t know if that’s a fact, but it sure felt like it!) Expect a sunny day on the mountain on Thursday…

Meet your forecaster: Temira

For almost 30 years, Temira (they/them) has been making the most of the Gorge: riding river swell, shredding powder, and cycling all the gravel and pavement and trails. This is Temira’s playground, their gym… their life’s work.

This passion led Temira to take a vow: In 2006, Temira decided to provide the most accurate, hyper-local weather forecasts possible. Today, Temira’s forecasts have become an essential resource for thousands of skiers, snowboarders, wind sports enthusiasts and Gorge commuters. With Temira’s guidance, you can plan ahead, time your sessions perfectly, and just plain have more fun! But the story doesn’t end there.

There’s “Temira’s Awesome Travel Advisory Service” and “Valuable Advice for Gardeners Inhabiting Neighboring Areas” – the Gorge’s premier microclimate forecast and gardening information. When winter storms, extreme heat, hail, or avalanches on SR-14 and I-84 threaten, TATAS keeps everyone and their tomatoes and giant pumpkins and cash crops safe.

Temira’s relentless efforts keep the forecasts flowing. But it ain’t easy: each forecast takes a couple of hours. That’s where you come in. By contributing, you’re not just supporting Temira’s passion project – you’re investing in the safety and well-being of the entire Gorge community. Your financial support ensures these essential forecasts remain accessible to all, free of charge.

Or just contribute enough for a cup or pound of coffee. I need coffee! Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Help me keep this labor of love alive, so we can all commute safely, play in the river, and shred Mt. Hood with the best weather forecasts possible. Thank you!

Random Morning Thoughts

I ain’t got nothin’ to say today, and you know what they say about that. Have an awesome day.

Disclaimer required by my grad school program: I am not your therapist (but I could be 51 graduate school credits from now). I am your weather forecaster. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, and consult with your actual therapist about your mental health issues. One other thing: I plan to keep doing this forecast indefinitely, even when I am a therapist.

Road and Mountain Biking

Steve Dunn says the Whoopdee is dry enough to ride. If that’s true, then Syncline is good. I can’t speculate on the condition of Post Canyon, but Kleeway laps seem like a possibility. In road biking news, today and tomorrow look AWESOME. Light wind and sunshine. What more could you want? Time? Oh, right. Me too.

Upcoming Events

It’s Thursday night. There’s community yoga (free or by donation) tonight at Samadhi at 6. There’s free Tai Chi at Our Savior Church in Bingen at 6:30. There’s free Zumba at the Parkdale Community Center at 6:30. Coming up tomorrow morning at 7am, it’s the Kickstand Coffee Run, where jogging 4 miles earns you a free cup of coffee and a donut.

Coming up this weekend, there’s a work party at Rowena Park on Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided. There’s a work party on the Whoopdee trail on Sunday from 9am to 1pm. Don’t forget that we change the clocks on Saturday night. That’ll give you an extra hour of sleep that night. Don’t be early for the work party!

Have an awesome day today!

Temira
