Gorge Wind Forecast

The air quality improved yesterday like a teen improving their ski park skills. We should be in the clear now. We’ve also entered a fall weather pattern, which means our wind is likely to be less reliable and less steady. For Saturday, expect 15-19 this morning from Viento to Swell with similar speeds east of The Dalles. Everywhere else: 5-10. Afternoon wind picks up to 19-23 from Rowena to Arlington. Chance of showers west of Mosier this afternoon. River flow is 80,500cfs, river temp is 65, and high temp forecast is 69.

Clouds stick around Sunday, but the wind does not. We’ll see light and variable wind in the morning with light westerlies (less than 10mph) in the afternoon. High temp: 75. Monday sees a trough of low pressure move over the Northwest. That sets us up for another day of light wind: light and variable in the morning, west 10-13 in the afternoon. No sign in the forecasts of a big east or west day this week, but we do have a chance at some actual, significant rain!

Kiting is no longer allowed at the Marina – it has become unsafe for other user groups. Lyle is now off limits unless you can get to the sandbar without crossing the RR tracks. If you cross the tracks, you will be ticketed. Lyle: loved to death. Roosevelt: still closed due to wind damage from earlier this year. Mosier is only available to residents of 97040 (Mosier).
