Good morning gorge sports fanatics! The ski report this morning calls for a sunny day on Mt. Hood. It’s 36 degrees at Timberline, where there’s a 160 inch base, 33 at Meadows, where there’s a 125 inch base, and 42 at Skibowl, where’s it’s free to ski today for Customer Appreciation day. Wherever you’re headed,…
Meet your forecaster: Temira
For almost 30 years, Temira (they/them) has been making the most of the Gorge: riding river swell, shredding powder, and cycling all the gravel and pavement and trails. This is Temira’s playground, their gym… their life’s work.
This passion led Temira to take a vow: In 2006, Temira decided to provide the most accurate, hyper-local weather forecasts possible. Today, Temira’s forecasts have become an essential resource for thousands of skiers, snowboarders, wind sports enthusiasts and Gorge commuters. With Temira’s guidance, you can plan ahead, time your sessions perfectly, and just plain have more fun! But the story doesn’t end there.
There’s “Temira’s Awesome Travel Advisory Service” and “Valuable Advice for Gardeners Inhabiting Neighboring Areas” – the Gorge’s premier microclimate forecast and gardening information. When winter storms, extreme heat, hail, or avalanches on SR-14 and I-84 threaten, TATAS keeps everyone and their tomatoes and giant pumpkins and cash crops safe.
Temira’s relentless efforts keep the forecasts flowing. But it ain’t easy: each forecast takes a couple of hours. That’s where you come in. By contributing, you’re not just supporting Temira’s passion project – you’re investing in the safety and well-being of the entire Gorge community. Your financial support ensures these essential forecasts remain accessible to all, free of charge.
So please take a moment to click one of the buttons below. Donate $19.99 or more (how much does this forecast enhance your life?) and get the email in your inbox. Or just contribute enough for a cup or pound of coffee. I need coffee! Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a difference. Help me keep this labor of love alive, so we can all commute safely, play in the river, and shred Mt. Hood with the best weather forecasts possible. Thank you!

If you’re a road biker, check out the Cherry of a Ride in The Dalles today. All proceeds go to benefit St. Mary’s Academy, so go ride your bike on a fully supported tour for a good cause.
Thanks to everyone who showed up for Charley’s work party at Post yesterday. I wish I could have joined you guys, but I’m at Meadows all day on the weekends. Anyway, Post is in prime-time near-perfect riding condition now, so go break in Charley’s trail and the newest section on spaghetti factory, and if you happen to have a new bike, break that in too! Just don’t break yourself!
Windsurfers and kiters and everyone else can head to the Windance multi-sport swap meet this morning, but there won’t be wind today. A weak front late tomorrow may bring some westerlies just before sunset, maybe upper teens, but the strongest wind will blow overnight. Tuesday’s looking like a decent west wind day on the water, with low pressure in the desert and high pressure building off the coast. Plan on Tuesday afternoon. Don’t tire yourself out Tuesday, because Wednesday looks like a massive, nuclear-force day in the Corridor. I’m kinda getting excited…
Finally, boaters, the Hood’s at 4.3 feet, the White Salmon’s at 3.9 feet, and the Little Whtie’s at 701cfs
