Good morning!
If you didn’t have a chance to watch The Eddie yesterday, you can read the highlights here: http://bit.ly/8pnvJ1 Or, you can watch the heats, in their entirety, elsewhere on the website. I’ll save you the decision of which heat to watch. Check out heat 4 (I haven’t watched it yet), where the surf picked up and XXX came from nowhere (no spoilers here) to win the event.
In weather news, the arctic air is sticking around for a few more days. With it, we’ll see very low humidity and few to no clouds in the sky. If you’re thinking of going skiing, my weekday counterpart at the mountain reports the groom is actually in excellent shape. Sunday’s blizzard snow worked into the groom nicely, eradicating much of the ice. I am thinking of making turns today, since it’s the same temp up there that it is here right now: 7 degrees.
This blocking high pressure system should start breaking down on Friday, as a jet streak hits from the north and the split jet recombines over the Pacific. Models are in disagreement over what will happen beyond Friday, and they’re also in disagreement over the amount/timing of precipitation. So, for now, I’ll go with potential snow in the Gorge and on the mountain Saturday and Sunday, with moderating temps leaving the gorge out of the snow zone by Monday. Snow, given current precipitation models, continues on the mountain through Tuesday.
Cross your fingers that these models hold, because I, for one, would like some new snow on the mountain!
The other day I told you that Joe was riding his mountain bike in 13 degree weather in Colorado. He’s decided that sub-10 degree weather is too cold for outdoor biking. If you’ve been biking around here in the early-morning frigid weather (Julie), you’re nuts, and I respect that.
Have a great day today!
