Although I like to stick with my own forecasts most of the time, NOAA had some priceless words this morning: “STORM TOTALS OF 2-4 FEET ARE POSSIBLE…WITH BLINDING SNOWFALL RATES OF 2-5 INCHES PER HOUR LIKELY TO DEVELOP”

Snow levels today will be around 3500’ early, dropping to 1000’ by 4pm. Snowfall will be extremely heavy all day, with approximately 2” total water value, possibly more, for 2 feet or more of new snow. Winds will be WSW 40-50 early, switching to W 35-45 (uh oh) by 10am, and dropping to W 30 by 4pm.

Moderate to heavy snowfall continues tomorrow through 7pm, becoming light overnight, with the snow level around 1000’ early, rising to 5000’, possibly 5500’ by 4pm. Winds tomorrow will be W 20-30 early, rising to SW 30-40 by 1pm and holding through midnight. Total snowfall tomorrow will be .5-.75” water value for 6-8” of new snow with a chance of rain mixed in overnight.

The snow level Wednesday morning will be 5000-5500’, falling to 2000’ by 1pm. We’ll see moderate to heavy snowfall all day mixed with a few lighter snowfall periods. Total accumulation will be 1-1.25” water value for 9-13” of new snow, possibly mixed with a little rain early. Winds Wednesday will be SSW 45-55 early, going to SW 40-50 by 10am, going to WSW 35-40 by 1pm and building to SW 40-45 by 10pm.

Thursday morning sees the snow level drop to 1000’ with moderate snowfall all day for .75-1” water value and 10-14” of new snow. Winds will be WSW 25-30. At this point, it looks like we’ll see another 1” water value on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a foot of new a day.

Apparently it really isn’t spring yet.

Have an awesome day.
