Good morning,

I have to be quick this morning because, unlike some of you, I have to work today.

There’s a few inches of new snow on the hill this morning, and we’ll see more snow falling throughout the day and evening. Total snowfall today will be .5-.75”, mostly falling between 2 and 10pm, for 5-7” of new snow. Winds will be SW 15-20 early, rising to 25-30 by 4pm and switching to W 15-25 late evening. The snow level will be 1500’ early, rising to 3000’ by noon and falling to 1500’ by 10pm

Tomorrow looks mostly dry, most likely cloudy, with snow flurries starting mid afternoon fro 1-2” of new snow. The snow level will be around 1500’, and winds will be SW 15-20 through the day.

The snow level rises to 4000’ Friday morning before falling to 3000’-3500’ by noon. We’ll see .4-.6” water value for 5-7” of new snow, falling in two wave, 5am-noon and 5pm-10pm. Winds will be S 20-30 early going to SW 10-15 midday.

At this point, Saturday looks cloudy with snow flurries and light wind and Sunday looks partly cloudy with light wind.

Have a great day!

Temira

Good morning!

I took the day off yesterday, as you might have noticed. It wasn’t exactly a restful day off, as I spent most of the day following the sad news out of Japan. My thoughts go out to all my friends there, as well as to the Japanese people. Japan may seem exotic, and Japanese culture may seem incomprehensible, but maybe this will give you a connection: Japan has incredible skiing and awesome windsurfing and millions of extreme sports fanatics. They are all going to be affected by this tragedy, so send your thoughts out to them. On to the forecast…

The weather isn’t cooperating right now. It’s alternating between rain and snow at the base of Meadows, and the road up here is a sloppy, slippery, slidey mess. The snow level’s at 6000’ or so right now, just as predicted. It’s supposed to drop to 5500’ by 10am, hold through the day, and then fall to 3500’ by 10pm, so hopefully the wet mess will switch back to snow soon. Winds today will be SW 40-50 early, dropping to SW 30-40 midday and rising to WSW 40-50 after 4pm. Total precip will be 1-1.5” (we’ve already seen about .3”) for 3-5” of wet new at the base and 10-14” of new snow up high. Most of the precip will fall between noon and 5am tomorrow.

The snow level will be down around 1500-2000’ by tomorrow morning, holding all day. Snowfall will be heavy before 5am and light to moderate after for .25-.5” water value or 4-6” of new snow. Winds will be WSW 30-35 early, dropping to W 20-25 by noon and falling to W 10-15 by 7pm.

The snow level will be 500-1000’ on Thursday, rising to 3000’ by 5pm. It will be cloudy with snow flurries and less than .25” water value for 1-2” of new snow. Winds will be SW 10-15 early, going to S 10-20 by 5pm.

Friday brings a few more inches of snow with the snow level around 3500’ all day. Total precip will be .25-.5”, mostly falling in the morning. Winds will be S 15-20 going to SW 5-10 by noon and holding through the day. At this point, the weekend looks sunny.
