Good morning!
It’s clear on the mountain this morning, but that’s only going to last through noon, at the latest, so if you want sunshine on the slopes, get it early. Clouds move in midday, with snow flurries starting early evening. The snow level will be at the surface this morning, rising to 4000’ by 2pm, rising further to 5500’ by 8pm. Winds today will be NE 10-15, going to SE 15-25 by noon and rising to SE 20-30 by 8pm. Total snow accumulation will be around 1”.
Tomorrow brings light snow flurries all day and a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. The snow level starts at 4500’ and drops to 3500’ late in the afternoon. Total accumulation will be .3-.5” water value, for 4-5” of new snow. Winds tomorrow will be SW 20-30 most of the day, switching to W 15-20 after 8pm.
Friday brings light snow flurries all day with the snow level at 2000’ and light wind. Total accumulation will be less than .25” for 2” or so of new snow.
More snow moves in for the weekend. The snow level on Saturday morning will be 3000’, quickly falling to 1500’ by 10am. We’ll see heavy snow between 5am and 2pm, for .5” water value or 5-7” of new snow. Flurries continue after 2pm for another inch or so of accumuation. Winds will be SE 15-25 early, rising to SW 20-30 by 10am and fading to SW 10-20 for the rest of the day.
The Gorge windsurfing forecast doesn’t look great: Gap winds at Rooster are about 30mph right now, but the gradient is only .09, meaning we’ll see inconsistent upper twenties at Rooster and upper teens to low twenties at Stevenson today. East winds of some sort continue for the next few days, but it looks like we’ll see mid-teens at best.
The mountain biking report is that Post is too muddy to ride.
Have a great day today!
