It looks like we’re pretty much stuck in this weather pattern forever, which is a great thing if you’re a kiter or windsurfer, but not so great if you’re hoping for warm, sunny weather. What do I mean exactly? Well, you’ll continue to suffer an extended spring, with high pressure off the coast, marine clouds over western Oregon and west wind in the Gorge. We’ll see 17-20 early today, building to 24-27 midday from Stevenson to Hood River. As a low pressure system approaches late in the day, the wind will drop near Hood River and pick up at Arlington and Stevenson.
Tomorrow looks windy as well, with more clouds in the western Gorge. We’ll have 21-23 early, probably from Mosier to Rowena, pickng up to 24-27 from Mosier out to Arlington by early afternoon. It looks like the western Gorge will stay cloudy, with 16-19 under the clouds.
The Clymb: free membership.
Access to super cheap gear including Trew, Zeal, Sierra Designs, and many more.
Thursday looks windy too, probably 21-23 or so, with the strongest wind from Hood River to Rowena.
Coming up after work tonight, there’s the Tuesday night Triathlon. Meet at the east end of the Event Site at 6pm for this fun, free short triathlon. Everyone is welcome. Also tonight, weather permitting, it’s the free ladies standup paddle night brought to you by Big Winds. Check their website after 4:30 to see if it’s on or not.
Tomorrow night brings the ladies only Post and Pinot ride out of dirty fingers at 5:30, with wine sampling and a free mechanical clinic after the ride. And if you’re a guy and you’re jealous of the ladies ride, don’t worry, because the co-ed Post and Pint is on Thursday.
I’ll remind you again of weekend stuff. There’s a Post Canyon work party on Saturday to finish the new cross-country trail, Mobius. The White Salmon backyard half-marathon happens on Saturday, benefiting the local high school cross-country team. Also on Saturday, it’s the Master Gardeners’ garden tour, always a very cool event.
And one last reminder, because I’ve been getting questions: Hospital Hill is closed this week. 8-mile, Knebal, Bottle Prarie and the Dakine Trail are all open.
Have an awesome day today!
