At this point, models don’t suggest any large change in the pattern any time soon, although they’re hinting at the high pressure starting to break down in the middle of next week.
Gorge wind conditions include westerlies today at 17-21 near Hood River. Sunday looks light. Monday brings east wind at 15-18, and Tuesday looks like 21-24. Apparently it is possible to launch from the new kite beach, but take a friend in case you need help escaping the quicksand. =)
In events, there’s not much going on other than Occupy Hood River at Jackson Park and various snow dances taking place in living rooms across the Gorge and great Portland/Vancouver metro area.
Mountain biking conditions are off the charts for this time of year. Syncline is perfect, and Post Canyon from Family Man to the top of 8-Track is in near-perfect shape. Get out and ride!
Have an awesome day today!
