Mt. Hood Snow Forecast, finished

At some point on Tuesday, the rain will start up, and it won’t stop. The snow level will be around 10,000′ all day long. Wind on Tuesday will be SW 30 early and SW 50 in the afternoon. Wednesday looks rainy all day long. The snow level will be around 10,000′ with SW wind at 30+. It’s hard to guess exactly how much rain the mountain will receive; this really depends on the exact storm track. That said, it’s an atmospheric river setup, and 2-4”+ per day seems reasonable. Avalanche hazard will be extreme.

Looking long-range, the snow level looks to drop to 5000′ on Thursday morning with continued heavy precipitation that will fall as snow.

Gorge Wind Forecast

East wind at 50-60 at Rooster all day long today (Saturday). East wind at 40-45 at Rooster on Sunday. East wind at 30-35 on Monday morning and 10-15(??) on Monday afternoon.

Random Morning Thoughts

I have nothing to say today. Have an awesome day!

Disclaimer required by my grad school program: I am not your therapist (but I could be 40 graduate school credits from now). I am your weather forecaster. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, and consult with your actual therapist about your mental health issues. One other thing: I plan to keep doing this forecast indefinitely, even when I am a therapist.

Gorge Weather Forecast

It’s partly cloudy and butt-ass cold out there this morning. Temps will be in the teens early and the low 20’s this afternoon. East wind will make it feel colder. No rainbows. Sunday morning looks like we’ll see a Nothing, but then again, it could be clear. Temps will depend on cloud cover, but probably won’t be warmer than the teens overnight. Models suggest we’ll see upper 20’s in the afternoon. Not buying it. East wind. No rainbows. Monday looks partly cloudy. Models are conflicting on when precip will start up. The GFS says Tuesday morning and the Euro says Monday night. I’d expect freezing rain on Monday night, just to be safe. More freezing rain on Tuesday. East wind, east wind, east wind. No rainbows.
