Random Morning Thoughts
Normally I work in silence. I sit here at my desk with my happy light. Once in a while my cat walks by and makes a funny noise, but that’s about it. Today, however, I decided I wanted to hear The Sun Always Shines on TV. I fired up The YouTube and let it run.
It didn’t take long before I was laughing so hard I teared up. 1980’s music videos are hilarious! The hair. The cheesy videography. The serious looks the musicians give the camera. The saxophones. Oh. My. Goodness. This one is my favorite so far.
The world can be such a serious place. We all have work and responsibilities. There’s madness happening in our increasingly polarized society. It’s important to let go of all that stuff occasionally and just be silly. Let your child self shine through. If that means watching cheesy videos, that’s great. Maybe it means running through the woods laughing – you, after all, are a forest sprite. You just don’t know it!
Whatever it is that connects you with your innocent child self, make friends with it. Bring it back into your life. There’s plenty of time to be serious. Let your silliness shine through too. You’ll be happier and more relaxed for it. Be a child. Have an awesome day.

Gorge Weather Forecast
I went outside to check the weather… ok, actually, I went outside to get some chocolate covered espresso beans, but I checked the weather while I was doing it. It was cloudy. I guess that means you can expect a mostly cloudy day with occasional sprinkles. The sprinkles will be followed by heavy rain this evening. Temps will be in the mid 40’s early and the mid 50’s this afternoon. East wind early, moderate westerlies after sunset. 9% chance of rainbows.
Thursday starts off dry, but quickly turns rainy after 11am, with the rain continuing all night long. Temps will be in the upper 30’s early and the low 50’s in the afternoon. Light wind early is followed by a brief strong west blast after 4pm. 73% chance of rainbows. Friday looks mostly cloudy early with on-and-off sprinkles during the day. Temps will be in the upper 30’s early and the upper 40’s in the afternoon. Light wind early, moderate west wind in the afternoon, 86% chance of rainbows.

Road and Mountain Biking
Viggers and I went for a ride at Syncline yesterday, and the dirt was just about as perfect as it gets. Also, the grass widows are out. It’s wildflower season! I don’t have a report from Post, but I suspect it’s muddy. Maybe it will be good by afternoon before the next round of rain arrives? If not, it’ll be a good day for road biking: Just a few sprinkles, high temps in the mid 50’s (knickers, 1 midweight jersey, arm warmers, and no shoe covers), and light wind.
