Monday starts off clear and stays that way while the sun is up. Clouds move in after sunset, and precip starts up late in the evening. The snow level Monday will be 2500′ in the morning, 5000′ midday, and 3000′ or so when the precip hits. We’ll see .2” WV between 10pm Monday and 4am Tuesday, for 2-3” of new snow. Wind Monday will be W 30 early, becoming light and variable for much of the day, and picking up to SSW 30 in the evening.
The next big system hits Tuesday afternoon, but it’s unclear at this point what the snow level will be. It does look like Mt. Hood will take a direct hit from a powerful low pressure system, so things could get interesting up there depending on the storm’s exact path. Thursday looks rather tropical, but that’s a long ways out to be predicting…

Random Morning Thoughts
A question came up in one of my classes the other night about what cultural concepts color our experience of the world. These cultural beliefs are unconscious, which makes the attempt to understand their impact a difficult task. We are being asked, in essence to see things that we don’t see.
What cultural expectations color your view of the world? More specifically, what did your family teach you, explicitly or implicitly, about what’s important? My family, for instance, left me with the belief that anyone (myself included) making less than six figures is a failure. I’ll point out here that only 6% of individuals and 20% of households (Quora.com) make that kind of money. I sure as hell don’t make that much, which used to leave me feeling like a failure and now just leaves me laughing.
What did your family teach you, and how does that impact your sense of self worth and self esteem? It’s difficult to bring these beliefs into the life, but by doing so, you’ll free yourself from their implications. If you do some soul searching, you may find beliefs that have a negative impact, and you may find beliefs that have a positive impact. Making the negative beliefs conscious will free you from them, and making the positive beliefs conscious will reinforce them and allow you to share them with your significant others.
Be curious about the beliefs you hold. Being conscious about them will make you more awesome. Have an awesome day.

Road and Mountain Biking
What’s not snowy is muddy, and that includes Syncline, so please leave it alone or you’ll do some major trail damage. What’s not muddy is under snow. I took a jog in Post Canyon yesterday, and it was snowy starting from the bottom. Your best bet is road biking or gravel grinding.
