Apologies for the late forecast. My internet provider was down, and I had to head to Dirty Fingers to send this out… =)

The wind forecast is today’s highlight: a front approaches the coast this afternoon, turning gradients onshore. We’ll see corridor winds pick up into the 16-19 range late afternoon, spreading east overnight. Things get interesting midday Tuesday, as high pressure builds at the coast and an upper low hangs in the desert. Afternoon winds from Hood River to The Wall climb into the 30ish range tomorrow. Gradients stay stacked Wednesday, for another big, big day on the water.

If you’re planning on heading to the hatch, 14 is closed from 7am to 4pm through Thursday, so you’ll be detouring.

If you’re a mountain biker, go ride. If you’re a biker of any sort, tonight is the Monday Night Alternative Ride out of Mountain View Cycles, weather permitting. Meet at the shop at 6:30 for a casual, no spandex, no clipless pedals, ride from Hood River to Mosier and back with a stop at the Thirsty Woman. If you’re doing this ride, lights and helmets are required.

If you’re looking for something mellower to do tonight, and you happen to be a fan of The Farming Game (or Farmville), there’s a cool lecture down at the Hood River History Museum at the Marina. George Rohrbacher, the creator of the Farming Game (my hero) is talking about Farming and gaming. Sounds cool to me. Swag is promised.

    Please post that we found a pair of expensive prescription clear glasses in grey (Oakley?) frames on “Dropout” at Post Canyon today. They are now sticking out of the side of a tree on the right of the Dropout trail, 1/3 of the way down, just before a sweeping left turn.
