For almost 30 years, Temira (they/them) has been making the most of the Gorge: riding river swell, shredding powder, and cycling all the gravel and pavement and trails. This is Temira’s playground, their gym… their life’s work.

This passion led Temira to take a vow: In 2006, Temira decided to provide the most accurate, hyper-local weather forecasts possible. Today, Temira’s forecasts have become an essential resource for thousands of skiers, snowboarders, wind sports enthusiasts and Gorge commuters. With Temira’s guidance, you can plan ahead, time your sessions perfectly, and just plain have more fun! But the story doesn’t end there.

Good morning,

I had a lovely day off yesterday. I rode my bike, I played in my garden, I finished my taxes, and best of all, I didn’t break my last backup computer!

Today starts off cloudy on Mt. Hood, with snow starting by 11am. We’ll see the snow level at 2000’ with SW wind at 10-15, rising to W 20 in the afternoon. Total precip will be .2-.3” water value by 5pm, for 2-3” of new snow, followed by another .2-.3” WV overnight, for 2-3” more by Thursday morning.

We’ll see flurries mixed with sunbreaks all day Thursday, for .1-.2” WV or a couple inches of new snow. The snow level will be around 1500’ with NW wind at 15-20.

Friday looks partly cloudy and cold, with the freezing level at 500’ in the morning, rising in the afternoon, with the eventual freezing level depending a lot on how much sun we see. Wind will be NW 15-20. No measurable precip.

Saturday looks clear and sunny, with the possibility of some high clouds streaming in from a low pressure system off the coast. The freezing level will be 1000’ early, rising to 2500’ in the afternoon and 4500’ in the evening. Wind will be E/SE/S at 15-20, rising to 25-30 in the afternoon. No precip.

The Gorge wind forecast contains 17-19mph near Hood River this afternoon with 22-25 in the eastern Gorge. Tomorrow brings 18-21 near Hood River. Friday looks like gusty 15-18 near Hood River. Saturday brings strong east wind in the afternoon.

Tonight at Discover Bikes, it’s the family-friendly Indoor Enduro Pumptrack race from 6-8pm. Coming up on Saturday, Skibowl hosts the King and Queen of the mountain races. Costumes are not mandatory, but they are highly encouraged.
