This passion led Temira to take a vow: In 2006, Temira decided to provide the most accurate, hyper-local weather forecasts possible. Today, Temira’s forecasts have become an essential resource for thousands of skiers, snowboarders, wind sports enthusiasts and Gorge commuters. With Temira’s guidance, you can plan ahead, time your sessions perfectly, and just plain have more fun! But the story doesn’t end there.

Mt. Hood Snow Forecast – 5000′

Good morning,

Today started off clear on Mt. Hood, quickly becoming cloudy and ruining the chances for goggle tans and sunburned snowboarders. The freezing level today will be at 6000′ early, dropping to 5500′ by 8pm and 3500′ by 11pm. Wind will be E 15-20 early, becoming S 15-20 by 2pm, NW 15-20 by 5pm and 10-15 overnight. Total precip today, during the day will be trace amounts. Starting around 8pm, we’ll see .5” WV through 4am, for 4-6” of new snow.

Monday starts off with snow flurries and the freezing level at 1500′, dropping briefly to 1000′ before rising to 3000′ in the afternoon and 5000′ in the evening. We’ll see less than .1” WV in the morning, for an inch or so of new snow. Wind will be W 15-20 early, swinging to SW 20-25 at 11am, 10-15 at 2pm, and S 25-30 overnight.

Models are all over the place with precip amounts for Tuesday. I’ll go with the lowest values at this time, but there’s a decent chance of more snow. We’ll see .2-.3” WV Monday night into Tuesday, for 1-3” of new snow by morning. The snow level will be 4500′ early, rising to 5000′ by 2pm, 6000′ briefly in the evening and dropping back to 4000′ by 11pm. Wind will be SW 35-40 at 5am, 30-40 mid-afternoon, and 40-50 in the evening. We’ll see .1-.3” WV during the day for 1-3” of new snow with heavier snowfall overnight.

Some thing with the precip amounts for Wednesday: all over the board. Anyway, Wednesday morning brings new snow, with .4” by 4am, for 3-5” of new snow. The snow level will be 3000′ all day. Wind will be SW 30-35 all day.

Thursday morning looks cold and snowy, with a chance of warm-and-wet in the afternoon. At this point, Friday looks rainy in the mountains with significant precipitation.
