Today, Temira’s forecasts have become an essential resource for thousands of skiers, snowboarders, wind sports enthusiasts and Gorge commuters. With Temira’s guidance, you can plan ahead, time your sessions perfectly, and just plain have more fun! But the story doesn’t end there.

Mt. Hood Snow Forecast – 5000′

Good morning,

Warning: I am taking a couple of days off, as I am going out of town. My apologies. The skiing will be great this week. Go get some!

Despite a little mishap with some mixed precipitation at low elevations this morning, today’s going to be a nice day on Mt. Hood, assuming dumping snow and blustery wind is your idea of nice. It’s my idea of nice. The snow level, currently around 5500′, will drop to 3000′ by 8am, 1500′ by 11am and 1000′ by 5pm. We’ll see 1-1.2” water value (WV) from 4am-4pm, for 8-12” of new, followed by another 1.1” WV by Wednesday 4am for another 10-14” of new. Wind today will be SW 45-55 all day long, dropping overnight.

Wednesday starts off with a schiessetonne of new snow on the ground and more falling from the sky. The snow level will be at 500′ early, rising to 1000′ by 2pm and 3000′ by 5pm. We’ll get .8-1.0” WV during the day, for 9-12” of new snow. We’ll see .6-.7” WV between 4pm Wednesday and 4am Thursday, for another 7-9” of new snow, Wind on Wednesday will be SW 10-15 early, rising to SW 25-30 in the afternoon.

Thursday looks the same as Wednesday in the morning, with dumping snow and the snow level around 500′, followed by clearing midday and high clouds moving in during the evening. We’ll just see a couple inches of snow in the morning before skies clear. Wind will be WNW 25-30 early, swinging to SW 15-20 by 11am and SSW 10-15 by 5pm.

Friday brings partly cloudy skies with a few flurries, The snow level will be less than 1000′ early, rising to 2000′ by 2pm and 3500′ by 5pm. Wind will be S 15-20 early, swinging to SE 15-20 by 2pm and ESE 20-30 by 5pm.

At this point, Saturday looks partly cloudy and Sunday looks snowy.

My apologies, but you’re probably not going to get a forecast for the next couple of days. I am going to Crystal to ski Employee Housing. =)
