Summer is going to stick around for at least the next few days, with temperatures hovering right around 80 in the western Gorge. We’ll have just enough breeze to keep the weather really pleasant this week.
Today on the river things start out light (the gradient is only .05 at 9am) but the wind will pick up to 15-18 by midday, with the strongest wind from Stevenson to Mosier. A low pressure system off the coast tomorrow will send clouds into Portland, but limit the pressure gradient, so we’ll see west wind in the 16-19 range from Stevenson to Hood River in the morning, filling in from Mosier to Arlington in the upper teens late in the afternoon.

As that low pressure system hangs off the coast on Wednesday, the wind will be light in the Gorge in the morning, picking up to 10-15 by midday, and then, depending on how fast the next weather system, possibly picking up to 17-20 late in the day in the western Gorge.
If you want to play tonight, there’s Monday night Tai Chi at Wilson Park at 5:30 and there’s the alternative ride at 6:15, headed to Mosier from Hood River with a stop for food and drinks at the Thirsty Woman.
