6/23 forecast

Good morning! Today is National Handshake day, and I have no idea what that means, except that maybe you should introduce yourself to some new people today!

Today’s forecast is brought to you by Cascade Acupuncture Center of Hood River and The Dalles, where you can cure your ills without slicing and dicing. Acupuncture is safe, gentle, and effective, and at CAC, it’s performed in comfy heated massage chairs by a team of cool acupuncture gals! Give them a call at 541-387-Heal to book an appointment or schedule your free 15 minute consultation and Chinese Pulse analysis! If you subscribe to the email version of this forecast (click on the donate button below for a suggested $10 donation), you’ll have a chance to win a 3-visit treatment package today!

Anyway, since it’s Handshake day, shaking hands might be a fun way to pass the time while you’re waiting for the wind to blow today. It’s going to be pretty light, until late this afternoon, when a weather system approaches. The wind should start picking up around 2 or 3, maxing out in the 16-19 range from Stevenson down to the Sandbar this evening.

Tomorrow looks a little stronger, as weak high pressure at the coast combines with a passing low pressure trough for west winds in the 17-21 range in the morning and the 24-28 range in the afternoon. The wind tomorrow should be focused a little big further east, probably strongest at Doug’s and Maryhill, and filling in as far east as Roosevelt late in the day. Looking ahead to the weekend, it’s the windsurfing blowout, so get ready to sail from Stevenson to Hood River! For more information, head to VMG events dot com.

For your after work fun tonight, Dirty Fingers Bike Repair in Hood River hosts the Post and Pint bike ride, a couple of hours of riding in Post Canyon followed by a couple of hours of pints at Dirty Fingers.

Boaters, the White Salmon’s at 3.25 feet, the Hood River’s at 3.85 feet, and the Klickitat’s at 2090 cfs.

That’s it for today. Whatever you do today, have an awesome day!
