Good morning,
We’re going to see a partly cloudy day today with very light wind through the Gorge. Although we’ll see some sun, and usually this makes for wind, low pressure off the coast will keep the wind light today.
Tomorrow starts off sunny with light wind. As the low pressure off the coast moves east of the Cascades in the afternoon, the wind will pick up. We’ll see a quick rise into the 18-22 range by 2pm, jumping to 23-26 from Stevenson to Rowena by mid-afternoon.
With the low pressure east of the Cascades, Thursday looks like a windy, dry, sunny, warm day, with temps near 70. We’ll see westerlies in the 16-19 range to start, quickly building to 22-25 from Stevenson to Hood River in the morning and shifting east to Rowena and possibly Maryhill late in the day.
If you’re looking for mountain biking, grab your road bike instead. The trails are still very muddy, and you can build endurance by riding up gravel-free State Road in Mosier instead. All the balsam root is flowering now, so Sevenmile hill might be a good ride as well.
Coming up this Saturday, there’s the King’s Crush adventure race. Get more information at GorgeChallenge.com. After the race, there’s the 2nd Wind season opener party at the British Pub in Hood River. There will be kite movies and swag at the party, so make plans to be there. Plus, 2nd Wind puts a lot of effort into making these parties fun, so show up to support 2nd Wind.
Finally, the rivers are still up. The Hood’s at 5.7 feet, the White Salmon’s at 5.4 feet and the Klickitat’s at 4730 cfs.

New to the site, new to Hood River. This site seems to have a lot of potential and the weather is spot on by my observation. Maybe I’m not looking in the right place or I don’t know the real name but under Mtn biking where is the Whoop Dee trail? It’s a fun trail that dries quickly on these wet spring days. Plus it is geared a little more to the novice, but an expert can still run it fast. Thanks for your time and keep up the good work!
