There’s some gradient out there already, and the wind is in the 17-20 range through the whole Gorge. We’ll see gusty 23-26 in the eastern Gorge this afteroon. Tomorrow looks pretty similar, with a light start to the day. As another weather system approaches late in the day, west wind picks up to 15-18.
Monday looks rainy, and that’s usually not very good for wind. The models are showing light wind all day Monday, and then on Tuesday, models are predicting another round of rain for much of the day.

It’s Ocktoberfest weekend everywhere, and that means it’s Hops Fest in Hood River today. If that’s your kind of recreational activity, head to the parking lot across from Full Sail from noon ‘til 9pm today to try out dozens of beers. While you’re there, make sure to stop by the Mt. Hood Meadows booth and say hello to your local ski area’s reps, not including me, because I’ll be out riding my bike or hunting mushrooms or something.
Also today, it’s the Gorge Green Living Tour of eco-friendly homes in Hood River and Mosier. The tour is a fundraiser for Columbia Gorge Earth Center. You can get your guidebook at: The Rebuild-it Center, Sustain Eco-Interior, and Green Home Construction.
Coming up tomorrow, we’re going to see partly sunny day, so the biking should be great, and if that’s not your style, there’s touch rugby in Mosier at 4 in the afternoon.
Finally, there’s a contest going on to name Hood River’s sandbar. Head to HoodRiverNews.com for more information.
Have an awesome day today!
