Mt. Hood Snow Forecast

The snow level will stay a bit too high today (Tuesday), but will drop back into a happier elevation for Wednesday. For Tuesday, expect the snow level at 6000′-6500′ all day, falling to 4000′ after midnight. We’ll see about 1/5” rain during the day. Another .2” water value (WV) arrives on Tuesday night, for an inch or so of wet new snow. Wind Tuesday will be S 20 in the morning and SW 15 in the afternoon and evening, rising to SW 30 after midnight.

Wednesday brings snow followed by clear sky. The snow level will be 4000′ early, 2500′ in the afternoon, and less than 1000′ after midnight. We’ll see .3-.4” WV during the day Wednesday, for 2-4” of new snow. Another trace to an inch falls after 5pm and before the sky clears, because duh, it’s not going to snow when the sky is clear. Wind on Wednesday will be SW 30 during the day, turning to WSW 30 in the evening and WSW 10 after midnight.

Random Morning Thoughts

It’s another busy day in the life of a grad student (me), so I’m going to run and get some work done. Less than one week until spring break! Have an awesome day!

Disclaimer required by my grad school program: I am not your therapist (but I could be 40 graduate school credits from now). I am your weather forecaster. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, and consult with your actual therapist about your mental health issues. One other thing: I plan to keep doing this forecast indefinitely, even when I am a therapist.

Gorge Weather Forecast

It is cloudy this morning, and shall stay that way today with scattered sprinkles and showers. Temps will be near 40 early and in the low 50’s later. East wind. No rainbows. Wednesday looks showery through early evening and dry after that. Temps will be in the low 40’s early and low 50’s in the afternoon. No wind early, moderate westerlies in the afternoon. 99% chance of rainbows. Thursday will likely start out with a frost and then turn sunny for the morning and cloudy in the afternoon with rain after midnight. Temps will be in the mid 30’s early and the mid 50’s in the afternoon. East wind. No rainbows.

White Sprinter Van of the Day

Road and Mountain Biking

Syncline is open. Twin Tunnels is open. There’s also some riding on Hospital Hill (unclear exactly what is open). Post is covered in downed trees and snow still, although Mobius is clear of snow and tacky in the clearcut – you’ll have to ride the road to get there. Definitely a better place for a jog than a ride right now.

Upcoming Events

It’s Tuesday. There’s free yoga at Flow at 4:30 and at HAVEN (Strong Women Yoga) in The Dalles at 5. There’s pickup touch rugby at 5 at the Hood River Marina Park. There’s $12 Prime Rib at Cebu tonight from 5pm to 9pm. At 6:30 this evening, there’s meditation at Yoga Samadhi led the monks from Pacific Hermitage. This remains, and most likely always will, my favorite activity of the week.

Have an awesome day today!
