Falls Creek Terminator Loop

Tired of the same old Falls Creek shuttle? Torture yourself with more miles. Start at Oldman Pass. Start at the 151 trail (Valley Ski Trail). Hit the road. Turn right. Go to the McLellan Meadows 157 Trail (3 miles of singletrack). Hit FR 65. Turn left. Ride 3 miles or so to a meadow and take a left on the 159 (Terminator) trail. That would be a super-happy-awesome time of 3.8 miles of singletrack fun. That’s a lovely 10 mile loop. Ride the 157 again, but skip the turnoff to the 65 road. Turn right into Gibson Horse camp and find the 152 trail.Take that down to the Falls Creek trailhead. That’s a 27 mile ride. Yay.

  • Anyone have a map of this route? Here is a map but I don’t see 159 or Gibson Horse Camp on the map I found. (see website link)

  • luv2shuttle

It’s the best shuttle around! PLENTY of uphill if you start at upper Old Mans, at least an hour of climbing. Don’t worry about destroying the planet if you leave a car at the bottom. I left my gas guzzling Tahoe at the bottom and the planet is still standing! Go figure. Oh and don’t forget to tip your helmet to shuttlesux when you blow by him/her. ;)

  • shuttlesux

At the risk of offending the flat pedal, full face helmet crew, the obvious variation from the “same old Falls Creek shuttle” is to leave the extra car at home, save your gas and planet, and just start by riding up the Wind River Road to Old Man Pass to make a true Falls Creek loop ride. About the same mileage as described above, better workout, and you don’t have to hide your head in shame when you shuttle past me as I’m riding up the road.
