Thai House
The Thai House Hood River opened on May 8th, 2010. It’s been packed since then.
When it first opened, chaos was the rule, not the exception. Wait times were horrendous and service was spotty. Things have changed. Although the restaurant is still busy, the staff is organized now, and food comes out quickly.
The menu is standard Thai, with lots of choices to suit any palate. The ambiance is cozy inside, with about 10 tables. In good weather, seating capacity doubles, with tables on the deck and on the lawn.
There were plenty of rumors flying around about who opened the Thai House. The truth is that it’s owned by Lon (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!), master sewer and R&D maestro at Da Kine, and his wife, a former Shari’s waitress. They’re from Laos, which shares a cuisine with Thailand. These are longtime local residents and good people, so please support their restaurant!
The Thai House is open 11-2 for lunch and 5-9 for dinner. It’s located at 1302 13th Street on the Heights in Hood River.
